- Since 1938, all United States coins bear the inscription, “In God We Trust”. It was first used on paper money in 1957, when it appeared on the one-dollar silver certificate.
Martha Washington is the only woman (so far) to have had her picture on a note of U.S. currency.
- No matter what denomination of currency you have, it will always weigh exactly 1 gram.
- Need a quick measurement? U.S. bills are exactly six inches long.
- That the 1943 copper-alloy cent is one of the most sought after items by coin collectors? There are about 40 of these known to be in existence today.
